Medium to full bodied with a dark ruby colour and aromas of black cherries and berries, sweet spices and vanilla. The finish is soft and long with hints of black pepper and tobacco.

This indigenous to Struma Valley, South West Bulgaria grape variety was created by the crossing of the ancient Broad Leaved Melnik Vine and the French grape variety Valdigue in the 70s. Fermentation and maceration on the skins took 18 days before being transferred for 4 months aging in new French oak barrels.
