Medium to full bodied with a dark ruby colour and aromas of black cherries and berries, sweet spices and vanilla. The finish is soft and long with hints of black pepper and tobacco.

Early Ripening Melnik Vine Thracian Lowland

Taste: Aged for 8 months in French oak barrels it has a pleasant final with aftertaste of cherries, nuts and chocolate

This indigenous to Struma Valley, South West Bulgaria grape variety was created by the crossing of the ancient Broad Leaved Melnik Vine and the French grape variety Valdigue in the 70s. Fermentation and maceration on the skins took 18 days before being transferred for 12 months aging in new French oak barrels.
Serve at 18-20C alongside white and red meat dishes, charcuterie and cheese.
